Our Learning

Research Projects

Research in education has enabled significant progress to be made in curriculum development and reform, educating learners with difficulties, understanding the individual differences and preferences and in adapting methods of instruction to the needs of individual learners.

Action research is an additional form of professional development that focuses on methods applied by teachers in efforts to improve learning. It is done through collaboration with the community, teachers, and students. In involves classroom-based inquiries on various topics relevant to the stakeholders.

The goal of action research is not to add to a general body of knowledge but, rather, to inform local practice, engage in professional learning, build a community practice, solve a problem or understand a process or phenomenon within a particular context, or empower participants to generate self-knowledge.

At Lonsdale School, we are keen to develop our curriculum as well as ourselves as learners. We regularly engage with educational research and in-house action research.
